Sekolah Semangat Maju Taiping held its Charity Food Fair on 19th April 2026 , marking a meaningful occasion dedicated to supporting its special need students with intellectual disabilities. The event began on a vibrant note with an energetic lion dance performance, symbolizing prosperity, good fortune, and the spirit of celebration. 

The event was further honoured by the presence of YABhg Orang Kaya Menteri Paduka Tuan Dato' Seri Wan Mohd Isa bin Dato' Haji Wan Mohd Razali, SPMP, DPCM, PJK, Orang Besar Jajahan Larut, Matang dan Selama, who is also the Patron of Sekolah Semangat Maju Taiping. The event was also graced by the presence of the guest of honour, Mr. Bryan Tan Kang Shyong, President of PAFID.

The warm buzz of laughter, the aroma of freshly cooked food, and the sight of colourful stalls soon filled the school grounds as the fair came to life. Students, teachers, parents and community members worked hand in hand to set up a diverse range of food stalls. From local favourites to delightful sweets and traditional kuih, each stall reflected both Malaysia's rich culinary heritage and the dedication of its organizers.

The lively environment was further enhanced by music, small games, and interactive activities that drew in visitors of all ages. Families gathered to enjoy meals together, while friends shared moments of joy and laughter across the school compound.

Many attendees expressed how meaningful the event was. The fair not only provided an enjoyable experience but also strengthened awareness and support for the students' need.

By the end of the day, the Charity Food Fair proved to be a success, both in terms of funds raised and the positive impact it created. The proceeds will contribute to enhancing educational programs and resources for the students, helping to foster a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.
